Ecovacs launches lottery ahead of debut of new Deebot robotic sweeper

Among them, the Deebot X1 series introduced in 2021 has so far recorded sales exceeding 1 million units, making it one of the few robotic sweeper producers capable of hitting such a milestone.

Ecovacs (科沃斯, 603486.SH), China’s top sweeping robot manufacturer, has launched a pre-order on August 3 for its new product that is rumored to be unveiled on August 17.

The pre-order is now available together with a 1-yuan (14 US cents) lottery on the e-commerce websites of Ecovacs, such as on Tmall and JD.com.

Media pundits believe that a lottery is a rare move by Ecovacs to generate buzz for its would-be new release and create a surprise for consumers, as the company hasn’t disclosed any information substantial.

According to a listing on an e-commerce platform, Ecovacs’s next release will be a new addition to its best-selling Deebot series.

Consumers who place an pre-order now will be able to join the lottery, with a so-called 99% chance to win prizes, such as Huawei wristband, Lululemon yoga mat, Starbucks pre-paid card and even a free robotic scrubber.

Given current pre-order numbers, at least hundreds of consumers have participated in the lottery.

As one of China’s leading suppliers of household service robots, Ecovacs has rolled out a range of products across a wide spectrum of categories, including robotic sweeper series Deebot, window cleaning robot series Winbot and air purifier series Airbot.

Among them, the Deebot X1 series introduced in 2021 has so far recorded sales exceeding 1 million units, making it one of the few robotic sweeper producers capable of hitting such a milestone.
