Galaxy Bot pursues general purpose robot dream after angel fundraising

Equity financing activity in the realm of general-purpose robotics is on the upswing over the past six months, as the capital market bets big on the sector's prospects.

Galaxy Bot (银河通用机器人), a Beijing-based general-purpose robot startup, has closed an angel round of financing for an undisclosed sum, Chinese media confirmed today.

Business data search service provider Qichacha showed that the company, which was founded in May this year, roped in ZGC Group, Tsinghua EEI, Meituan and Yanyuan Fund as its new shareholders.

The new fundraiser boosted the startup’s registered capital from 140,000 yuan to 180,000 yuan.

Previously, the company bagged funds from Tide Capital, iFlytek, Lighthouse Capital, Sense Capital, Matrix China Partners and Lanchi Ventures.
