Key robotic summit to spur industry integration in Zhejiang

The summit will bring together some 100 organizations and hundreds of attendees, including several academicians, to discuss a range of topics at eight forums on digital transition of manufacturing, industrial robotics, bionic robotics and robotic applications.

The 8th China Robot Summit will be held from May 23 to 25 this year in Ningbo, a manufacturing hub in eastern China’s Zhejiang Province.

The summit, which also doubles as a conference on talent in the era of smart economy, will take place in Yuyao, a prefecture-level city governed by Ningbo.

The event is organized by the Zhejiang government and co-sponsored by the government of Ningbo, High-tech Research and Development Center of the Ministry of Technology as well as Industrial Development and Promotion Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The summit will bring together some 100 organizations and hundreds of attendees, including several academicians, to discuss a range of topics at eight forums on digital transition of manufacturing, industrial robotics, bionic robotics and robotic applications.

The event, which will revolve around core robotic technologies, digital industrial chain and high-end robotic use cases, seeks to build a consensus on integration of digital and real economies.

In addition, Yuyao, already home to a large number of robotic industry chain businesses, will benefit from the synergies formed at the forum, said Mao Pixian, vice mayor of Yuyao.

A key highlight scheduled for the summit is the release of robotic industry development index, by the Ministry of Industry of Information Technology for the first time. This will be an important gauge of industrial vitality.

Participants will also showcase upwards of 30 industrial applications and over 500 sets of new products, technologies and solutions on the sidelines of the summit. They include established firms such as Midea (美的集团, 000333.SZ), Segway-Ninebot (九号机器人) and Estun (埃斯顿, 002747.SZ).
