Robotic parts maker ZD Motor saw 23H1 revenue jump 19% on robot boom

Amid a frenzy over robotics and a digital industrial transformation, Chinese producers of robots and robotic parts have been flourishing, which encourages some to devote more resources to these sectors.

ZD Motor (中大力德, 002896.SZ), a company mainly making gear motor and robot reducer, released it financial results on August 25.

It reported revenue of 540 million yuan (US$74.14 million) in the first half of this year ended June 30, up 19.03% year on year.

Net profit attributable to shareholders rose 6.98% from the same period last year to 33.27 million yuan.

The Ningbo-headquartered firm is a major manufacturer of key industrial equipment such as AC gear motor and planetary reducer.

A financial numbers breakdown indicates that ZD Motor’s revenue from gear motors fell 16.43% to 167 million yuan.

By comparison, high-precision reducers gained 8.90% to 123 million yuan while smart effectors surged 80.11% to grossed 241 million yuan, over the previous year.

This signals a growing portion of robotics-related business in the firm’s overall operation.
